Service and Approach
We can help you structure the information you want to present and suggest methods for optimising campaign asks ... or sales of organic carrots.
Whether you are engaged in direct campaign or lobbying work, selling local organic food, or curating an alternative media archive, we will take time to understand your organisation and what you want to achieve with your website. We can help you structure the information you want to present and suggest ideas and methods for optimising campaign asks ... or sales of organic carrots. Of course, if you already have a clear idea of what you want then that's great too - it will make the process quicker and cost less. In any case, Netuxo will work with you to create the site you want and to spread your message.
Depending on your budget and timescale, we can recommend and commission a graphic designer to produce a new set of template pages - just for your site. And if you need a full rebrand, our highly experienced design partners are ready and waiting. Alternatively, we can help you choose from one of the many Drupal Themes that other developers have produced and licensed freely. Although these are high quality, they may not fit your organisation's ethos and requirements quite as precisely as a custom theme would do. Something to think about.
We are also more than happy to work with your in-house graphic designer, or one that you have commissioned directly.
Once the site is built, we can offer you training on how to manage the content and administration of your website. We will also provide free support and bug fixes for a limited period after site launch. After this period we can continue to provide user support on either an ad-hoc or contractual basis. Contact us for more details. While we would normally hope to continue the relationship with ongoing maintenance and development of the site, as well as hosting, the website is yours and you are free to download a copy which you can host anywhere you like and pass on to any developer with Drupal skills, who will be able to continue our work.
Drupal is used to run some of the biggest websites in the world, with a global community of thousands of developers.
Here at Netuxo, we have been developing websites with Drupal — a free software, open source, and highly flexible Content Management System (CMS) — since 2005. Drupal is used to run some of the biggest websites in the world, with a global community of thousands of developers building websites with Drupal and building Drupal itself. Notable Drupal sites include Amnesty International, The Economist, and The Louvre. The advantages of choosing Drupal as your CMS include:
- The licensing basis (free);
- The core software is extremely well supported by a huge team of developers;
- Security patches are regularly rolled out. Apply them regularly and keep your website safe;
- The quantity of documentation available to support users with day to day tasks;
- The worldwide community of experienced developers who know the technology. You won't be 'locked-in' to using Netuxo.
Ongoing maintenance and development
We can help prevent problems with your site before they happen. We will also be there for you to help with any problems that come up with the site.
Your website is a critical tool and you need to have confidence that it will do what you need, when you need it. That means having quick and efficient support ready for when you are faced with challenges and having developers ready to add new features and change the way the site works to meet the changing needs of your organisation.
We can help prevent problems with your site before they happen. One of the ways we do this is by keeping it up to date. As new vulnerabilities are discovered in any widely used software, people create tools to maliciously attack or take over control of websites. To reduce this risk, we normally recommend upgrading the software components (Drupal core and modules) of your site once every three months - and when any critical vulnerabilities come to light - which will do for you for a small fee. In the process we will also identify and let you know about any technical problems we spot.
We can be there to support site editors and administrators, to fix bugs, add or remove features and to help you manage configuration settings.
You can choose whether you want to pay a fixed monthly fee to cover a maximum number of hours of support and development, with priority response times, or to work on an ad-hoc basis as and when you need support. If we work on an ad hoc basis response times will be more variable, and we charge for each request as a minimum of 1/2 an hour.
We provide hosting for websites and mailboxes.
If you want us to provide support and ongoing development for your website, it is easier and cheaper - for both you and us - if Netuxo provides hosting for your site. This is because we know exactly what sort of server its running on, how to get quick access, and what Drupal and other tools are available for us to use, as opposed to working with one of many slightly different systems. For this reason we charge hosted clients less for applying regular Drupal updates than those hosted elsewhere. However there may be reasons why you want to keep your website hosted somewhere else and we will happily provide support and updates providing we have reasonable access to the hosting server.
